Is participation in a clinical trial safe?
All studies at CFCR follow protocols reviewed and approved by an Institutional Review Board. You receive a full informed-consent document before enrolling and can withdraw at any time without penalty.
Will I have to pay anything?
No. All study-related visits, procedures, and tests are provided at no cost. Many studies also offer compensation for your time.
Will this affect my relationship with my current doctor?
Study participation does not replace your routine medical care or affect your relationship with your physician. We coordinate with your existing providers as needed throughout the study.
What kinds of conditions are you studying?
Our current interest areas include primary care and general health, diabetes and metabolism, cardiovascular health, orthopedics and joint conditions, chronic pain, mental health, dermatology, neurology, and rheumatology. New studies open regularly.
How do I know if I qualify?

These rights apply to every person who participates in research at CFCR.

Participation is voluntary. You may refuse or withdraw at any time without penalty or loss of benefits you are otherwise entitled to.
You receive an informed-consent document before enrolling that explains the study in plain language.
You may ask questions at any time, before, during, or after the study.
The consent process explains foreseeable risks, potential benefits, alternatives, costs, compensation, privacy protections, and whom to contact with concerns.
An independent Institutional Review Board reviews and approves every study to protect participant welfare.
Research participation does not replace routine medical care. Your existing physician relationship continues unchanged.
Your personal health information is kept private and used only as described in the consent document.
